Jaylee with her Momma! February 13, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — missy @ 5:17 pm

Missy came out of recovery after about two hours after delivering. I grabbed a quick bite to eat with Missy’s family here at the hospital while she was sleeping.

During this time Jaylee was put on oxygen for about 4 hrs and slowly taken off. She was then monitored for about 4 more hours before Missy got a chance to really see her and hold her. Wasn’t very easy to be away from her that long after delivery.

Missy finally got to see Jaylee at 2PM and one of the nurses helped Missy to immediately start breast feeding. Much patience is needed, but Missy and Jaylee are going at it well!

We will be at Baylor Waxahachie probably til Sunday due to the c-section. Missy had some blood tests done and seems to be a possible infection. Nothing to panic about and should clear up, but may extend our stay a little.

Our delivery doctor has a hot date with his wife tonight so we will see another doctor in the meantime. He stopped in before he left. All the staff here has been great and very helpful. Would defintely recommend this hospital to anyone. Here are a couple more pics.

Jaylee Paige - 2/13/09 - 8lbs!

Filed under: Uncategorized — missy @ 8:26 am

Missy is a champ! Unfortunately after all that labor time Missy had to go C - section. :( She and baby are doing great. Monitoring Jaylee’s breathing and Missy is in recovery. She weighed exactly 8lbs and never caught the length with everything going on.

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. I will post more picks later.

Missy dilated to 10cm at 12:30AM. Waiting for the baby to drop a little more before she starts to really push. Jaylee is almost here! Missy is doing great!

Waterbroke! February 12, 2009

Filed under: Pregnancy, Uncategorized — missy @ 11:20 pm

Well Missy had lots of visitors after receiving her epidural. Amazing that she can now be talking and laughing and not feeling a contraction.

I left at 8 with all the family. We went to Double Daves in Waxahachie to get some pizza. We were the only ones there and had some great pizza. We had a whole pizza leftover and brought it back for Missy’s parents who stayed with Missy while I went to eat.

We all came back into the waiting room and I went into Missy’s room to get her dad a water. As soon as I opened the door Missy said to me, “I think my water just broke!” I told the nurse and she came in and sure enough, her water broke - gushing out. Not sure what all to share with you all, but she is now dialated to 4cm and moving along. Wish she could pull this out in two hours, but I don’t think it is going to happen.

Talk to you all soon!

Slow Going!

Filed under: Uncategorized — missy @ 8:17 pm

It has been a while since we updated the blog, but things have been really slow. Missy took a pill at 3 and contractions strengthened. My mom (Mary) came up and brought our car chargers for our phones, some pillows and a gift basket that Missy put together to me from Jaylee. Card, cokes, candy, starbucks card, and a movie gift card! Jaylee is already spending Daddy’s money. At least it was for her Daddy!

The doctor came in after his regular shift, around 5:30. He checked her cervix and she was only at about 1 and a half cm. Man so many hours and not much progress. A little disappointing but the doc said it would be slow. Move faster after she is about a 3/4.

Talked to the doctor about the options. Told us about maybe going ahead with the epidural and may help move the process along. The doc left and Missy’s parents, sister and niece arrived shortly after that. Spent some time with them taking pictures and catching up on the status of things.

At 6:30, after talking to the nurse, Missy decided to get the epidural, not because of pain, but hopefully to speed up the process! Anytime you mention needles it scares me, but especially scares me when you talk about needles and the spine. No way! Well, Blaine the anesthesiologist, was amazing! Great guy, talked Missy through everything, and was done in no time. Missy said it didn’t hurt any worse than getting an IV.

Missy is now all set, not feeling much at all. She is going to get some rest after all the visitors come in before one last visit. I think my dad, Emily and Danny just arrived. We will probably all go get something to eat while Missy rests.

It looks like a Friday the 13th baby!

Chill’n in the hospital!

Filed under: Pregnancy — missy @ 1:18 pm

We went to doctors visit this morning at 8:15AM. Blood pressure was high and more protein in my urine. Dr said that I had mild to medium case of pre-eclampsia. He recommended that we start the induction process so the pre-eclampsia didn’t get severe and thus a higher chance of c-section. The doctor gave us a couple of options to start the process and I will spare you the details. We choose the one in which you take an oral pill every four hours to soften the cervix and speed up the process

At 9:30 we checked into the hospital. They drew blood and hooked me up to all the monitoring equipment. I received my first pill at 11:00 and started feeling the effects immediately - cramping feeling!  Aaron and Mellissa stopped up with the kids and visited for a while and Linda Calvery just brought Justin some food.

We are sooooo excited! Justin is calm now but really nervous for whats coming around the corner. I’ll keep you updated. Love you all!

Loving it! October 27, 2008

Filed under: Pregnancy — missy @ 11:21 pm

So it has been awhile since I have posted, as many have pointed out to me!  Pregnancy is progressing quite well. My last appointment was last week and Dr. Morehead said everything looked good and was progressing normal.  I love to hear her heartbeat each time I go. My next appointment is the one that I drink THE DRINK and have blood drawn. I hear its not too bad.

Jaylee seems to be growing like crazy. She is kicking all of the time now. I love to sit at night watching my stomach. Seeing her kick and move around is one of the most amazing things to me.  I love the smile it brings to Justin’s face when he sees and feels her do it.

We are working on THE ROOM!  We will be picking up our furniture soon and getting cracking on the painting and decor.  I have her bedding already and I love it!  The designer is Terra Sutta and the name is “Giggles” in case you want to see.  I can be in a bad mood and walk into her room and it immediately makes me happy.  Of course her room has to be done to the T ASAP!!

This weekend we hung out with my family.  Friday Justin had the wonderful experience of watching his first  6 man football game. Go Cherokee Indians!  Final score- 84-70, we lost but they played great. My brother in law is one of the coaches!  My cousin’s husband is the other. What fun! Saturday we watched my nephew’s football game and they won for the first time!  He did great! He is by far one of the best encouragers to his other teammates. Makes an aunt VERY proud!  We then drove a couple hours to see my cousin, Jenny’s new baby, Cason. Perfection! He is a miracle from GOD and beautiful!  (See pics from the weekend)  I LOVE family!!

Spending time with family makes me miss them more.  My nephew, Ethan and niece, Emma are so fun and adorable. Ethan is 9 and getting “too big for his britches” Emma will be 5 in Nov and is beautiful! She cracks me up!  She said to her mom Sunday “Mom, its about TIME I have a sleepover at Sissy and Justin’s house!”

Currently I am working on locating a 4D Sonogram facility to use.  Any suggestions??

It’s a GIRL!!!!! September 24, 2008

Filed under: Pregnancy — missy @ 10:30 pm

Justin and I had the wonderful experience of our official sonogram today. It was so much fun! The stenographer was so fun and excited for us.  It took her very little time to be able to tell it was a girl.  When she realized it she said “Oh, this one definitely has indoor plumbing”!  I LOVED IT!  I shed a few tears today. Justin on the other hand was analyzing everything and asking her if she was changing the frame rate to get a better image. My husband!!!

We are both so excited and went shopping immediately after.  It is so hard not to go nuts shopping, but I am trying so hard to refrain.  I love that I have a GIRL in my tummy. She is beautiful!!!!!!

For those of you who have wrote advice, thank you so much!  Love it all!  If you haven’t and want to, please do!

Saturday is furniture shopping day!!! Can’t wait!!!!

Need some serious advice…. September 20, 2008

Filed under: Pregnancy — admin @ 3:16 pm

Ok, so I need all the current mothers to please pass on some advice. We will be registering soon for this wonderful child in my tummy and I would love to hear from all of you pros.  This is what I need:

1) What is absolutely necessary to have?  You just can’t imagine raising your child without it!

2) What is perhaps not necessary, but you love having it?

3) What is just a gimmick?

4) What is safe and what is not safe? Particular brands you like.

5) What is something you would recommend for this ever changing bump of mine?

I recently went to Target in search of a baby gift and just looked around to get ideas for myself.  I became overwhelmed! There are so many different products out there!!!

I really appreciate any advice you can share. If you do not know, I am planning to nurse so I guess the products that apply to non-nursing do not really matter.  Only 4 days left until we hopefully find out!!!

Cruising with the Husband.. September 13, 2008

Filed under: Fun Times — admin @ 10:42 pm

For our 4 year anniversary and last hoo-rah before the baby comes, Justin and I went on a week long cruise the first week in September. We left out of Galveston and were suppose to go to Jamaica, Grand Caymans, and Cozumel, but ended up going to Progresso, Mexico instead of Jamaica due to hurricane Gustav. This was our first cruise and we loved it! To our surprise, the weather was perfect and we did not feel the effects of Gustav at all. Neither of us had much sea sickness issues, which was very nice. We were able to relax and spend wonderful, quality time with each other.

I love my husband! Spending so much time with him on the cruise really spoiled me. I loved that he was totally focused on us and did not stress the entire cruise. It is really hard to tell when Justin is stressed out because he is so even-kil, but on the cruise I really realized that my husband is entirely too stressed at home. Of course he has MANY reasons to be. He works full time, has a personal business, works part time at our church, takes college courses, and puts up with me!! Too much. I am determined that somehow his stress load HAS to decrease. There are things in the works that will help make this happen and I am just praying it will really come thru.

Now we are home and back to reality. Good thing it is football season!!!! Go Hawks and Cowboys!
