Loving it! October 27, 2008

Filed under: Pregnancy — missy @ 11:21 pm

So it has been awhile since I have posted, as many have pointed out to me!  Pregnancy is progressing quite well. My last appointment was last week and Dr. Morehead said everything looked good and was progressing normal.  I love to hear her heartbeat each time I go. My next appointment is the one that I drink THE DRINK and have blood drawn. I hear its not too bad.

Jaylee seems to be growing like crazy. She is kicking all of the time now. I love to sit at night watching my stomach. Seeing her kick and move around is one of the most amazing things to me.  I love the smile it brings to Justin’s face when he sees and feels her do it.

We are working on THE ROOM!  We will be picking up our furniture soon and getting cracking on the painting and decor.  I have her bedding already and I love it!  The designer is Terra Sutta and the name is “Giggles” in case you want to see.  I can be in a bad mood and walk into her room and it immediately makes me happy.  Of course her room has to be done to the T ASAP!!

This weekend we hung out with my family.  Friday Justin had the wonderful experience of watching his first  6 man football game. Go Cherokee Indians!  Final score- 84-70, we lost but they played great. My brother in law is one of the coaches!  My cousin’s husband is the other. What fun! Saturday we watched my nephew’s football game and they won for the first time!  He did great! He is by far one of the best encouragers to his other teammates. Makes an aunt VERY proud!  We then drove a couple hours to see my cousin, Jenny’s new baby, Cason. Perfection! He is a miracle from GOD and beautiful!  (See pics from the weekend)  I LOVE family!!

Spending time with family makes me miss them more.  My nephew, Ethan and niece, Emma are so fun and adorable. Ethan is 9 and getting “too big for his britches” Emma will be 5 in Nov and is beautiful! She cracks me up!  She said to her mom Sunday “Mom, its about TIME I have a sleepover at Sissy and Justin’s house!”

Currently I am working on locating a 4D Sonogram facility to use.  Any suggestions??

It’s a GIRL!!!!! September 24, 2008

Justin and I had the wonderful experience of our official sonogram today. It was so much fun! The stenographer was so fun and excited for us.  It took her very little time to be able to tell it was a girl.  When she realized it she said “Oh, this one definitely has indoor plumbing”!  I LOVED IT!  I shed a few tears today. Justin on the other hand was analyzing everything and asking her if she was changing the frame rate to get a better image. My husband!!!

We are both so excited and went shopping immediately after.  It is so hard not to go nuts shopping, but I am trying so hard to refrain.  I love that I have a GIRL in my tummy. She is beautiful!!!!!!

For those of you who have wrote advice, thank you so much!  Love it all!  If you haven’t and want to, please do!

Saturday is furniture shopping day!!! Can’t wait!!!!

Need some serious advice…. September 20, 2008

Filed under: Pregnancy — admin @ 3:16 pm

Ok, so I need all the current mothers to please pass on some advice. We will be registering soon for this wonderful child in my tummy and I would love to hear from all of you pros.  This is what I need:

1) What is absolutely necessary to have?  You just can’t imagine raising your child without it!

2) What is perhaps not necessary, but you love having it?

3) What is just a gimmick?

4) What is safe and what is not safe? Particular brands you like.

5) What is something you would recommend for this ever changing bump of mine?

I recently went to Target in search of a baby gift and just looked around to get ideas for myself.  I became overwhelmed! There are so many different products out there!!!

I really appreciate any advice you can share. If you do not know, I am planning to nurse so I guess the products that apply to non-nursing do not really matter.  Only 4 days left until we hopefully find out!!!

Cruising with the Husband.. September 13, 2008

Filed under: Fun Times — admin @ 10:42 pm

For our 4 year anniversary and last hoo-rah before the baby comes, Justin and I went on a week long cruise the first week in September. We left out of Galveston and were suppose to go to Jamaica, Grand Caymans, and Cozumel, but ended up going to Progresso, Mexico instead of Jamaica due to hurricane Gustav. This was our first cruise and we loved it! To our surprise, the weather was perfect and we did not feel the effects of Gustav at all. Neither of us had much sea sickness issues, which was very nice. We were able to relax and spend wonderful, quality time with each other.

I love my husband! Spending so much time with him on the cruise really spoiled me. I loved that he was totally focused on us and did not stress the entire cruise. It is really hard to tell when Justin is stressed out because he is so even-kil, but on the cruise I really realized that my husband is entirely too stressed at home. Of course he has MANY reasons to be. He works full time, has a personal business, works part time at our church, takes college courses, and puts up with me!! Too much. I am determined that somehow his stress load HAS to decrease. There are things in the works that will help make this happen and I am just praying it will really come thru.

Now we are home and back to reality. Good thing it is football season!!!! Go Hawks and Cowboys!

17 1/2 wks and counting…..

So this baby world is so interesting to me. Each new thing just amazes me. We had our last doctor appointment in August, where we were able to hear the heart beat for the first time. Precious! Dr. Morehead said the baby’s heart beat was 162. If anyone wants to tell me what that means as far as sex, go right ahead. I started feeling better around 15 weeks. Now that I am almost 18 I am feeling pretty darn good. No sickness feelings, but still tired at times. Sometimes I have to remind myself that I am pregnant. Except that my stomach is definitely starting to show so that reminds me that I am prego. The worst reminder that I am prego are these DARN BOOBS! Hate that part….Hate it! Just within the last couple of days I have started to feel the flutters that I am told I will feel. Its hard to tell for sure what is baby but a couple of times I have known for sure. Amazing! I am just so ready to be able to fill it kick. I want justin to be a real part of this miracle!

My next Dr Appt is Sept 24th and we are having our official sonogram to determine the sex that day!! Needless to say, I am so so very excited about having the sono and finding out what we are having. I really do not care the sex, just want to know so bad. I am so ready to shop! I can not wait to buy furniture and get the room all ready! You know that the baby’s room will have to be done to the T before it gets here!!!!! Justin and I have already started to design it, but can’t wait to make it happen.

I have officially decided to stay home with the baby and am excited but nervous about the transition. I have worked hard for an education and career, but am ready to be a mom! I will of course continue to volunteer with CASA and get to do the part I love- advocate for the kids. I am excited that I have such a hard working husband that enables me to be able to stay home with the baby! I feel privileged to do so.

Just Around the Bend…

Filed under: Fun Times — admin @ 10:15 pm

Ok.. So I am horrible at updating my blog but will work very hard to get better!

Justin and I went with my family on a weekend vacation in August that was quite the adventure. With my family, there is always an adventure! We stayed at Sulphur Springs Fishing Camp in Bend, TX. This is located on the Colorado River, near Lampasas.

So Saturday someone had the bright idea that we would hike down to Gorman Falls- a waterfall on the Colorado. I was all up for it, or so I thought! The hike down was about 2.2 miles, with about 1.5 on a dirt road and the last part hiking thru the mountain. I did pretty well until the last part and I seriously did not know if I would make it. Remember, I am PREGO! If I was not pregnant I really don’t think I would have had any troubles at all. So the waterfall was beautiful, see picture. Worth the hike. I really did not think I could make it back up the hike to the car. It was all uphill on the way back. So my brother in law, Phillip had the genius idea that we would treck down the river back to our cabin. He believed that our cabin was actually about a mile from where we were at the waterfall. So Justin, mom, Phillip, ethan, emma and I started down the river while Dad and Shawna headed back up to get the cars.

We set out with much excitement, enjoying the beautiful scenery of the river. Walking along the river was so much nicer because we could get wet. We walked, and walked, and walked and walked! We kept believing that we were just a short distance from the cabin. Phillip’s famous last words: the cabin is “Just around the bend”. Each time we came to a bend in the river we believed it to be the last glorious bend before our cabin. Well, “Just around the bend” continued for about two hours. At one point our ability to walk down the river ended and we had to hike up the mountain to a dirt road. Long story short, our cabin ended up being about 2.5 miles from the waterfall!! We eventually made it but I really had a rough time. I was quite proud of myself, Ms. Prego! I had trekked about five miles that day!!! Everyone was a real trouper!! My dad, who was concerned that we had not made it the the cabin actually hiked back down to the waterfall and back up. He hiked TEN miles that day! What an amazing man!

We all ended up safe and sound but it was definitely quite the adventure! At least we get a good laugh out of it being “Just around the Bend….”

A Whole New World…. July 22, 2008

Filed under: Pregnancy — admin @ 8:37 pm

Ok. So I know I prayed, dreamed, and even cried many tears for this child, but who would have thought it would be such a challenge to carry this child. For goodness sake- I am only 10 wks! I have a long ways to go. Really, I know I should be thankful because I do not have it near as bad as some I know. Such as my sister-in-law, Emily. She is about 6-7 wks along and has just hit the misery stage. I also have a cousin, Laura who is sick all of the time as well and she is a ways into her second trimester. I know I should be thankful I do not have it that bad. And I am. I really am. But the queasy feeling and tiredness all of the time is just for the birds! DARN EVE!!!

Poor Justin. We have prayed and dreamed of this child for so long and now all he gets to hear me do is complain about feeling icky. He is such a trouper! I am so excited for him to hear the heartbeat and feel the baby kick so he can trully feel a part. We should get to hear the heartbeat at the next doctor appointment on August 13th. Just seeing the heartbeat on the screen brought tears to my eyes.

Justin is going to be an AMAZING father! I love my husband!!!!

Question for the day: What books do you experienced parents recommend?
